Its main fragrance additions are herbs, anise, chamomile and parsley. Ouzo should be served well- chilled,  in thick-bottom glasses, on its own or half and half with water, or one ice cube. The alcohol  becomes milky after adding water which is a characteristic of anise-flavoured  alcohols.
